RuRi Founder opens concert in Colomboby ruriadmin
In January 2018, Sumudu flew out to Colombo for just 3 days to attend a music concert in aid of RuRi Foundation.
She was invited by the organisers, Past Pupils Association of Vindula College to open “Fuze” 2018, featuring Bathiya & Santhush, Sanka Wickramasinghe, Lahiru Perera, Piyath Rajapakse.
The concert was held at Kularathna Hall, Ananda College and it gave Sumudu another opportunity to speak directly to the public about CSA, but this time to young Sri Lankan’s, the future generation of thinkers and game changers in the country.
“Some projects are conducted for fundraising purposes to sustain and develop a foundation, some are for nothing but the opening of minds and hearts”.
She spoke about CSA in front of past pupils, college staff, inviting them all to share her vision and become more aware and receptive to the dialogue on CSA.
Sumudu saw this as a opportunity to bring awareness of her work to the youth of Sri Lanka and offer the reassurance that organisations such as RuRi and the services of Child Protection Force (an allied organisation of lawyers who provide legal support for CSA survivors in Sri Lanka) were available.
